Why is a computer clock speed a poor measure for comparing the relative time it will take a computer to complete specific tasks?

The clock speed is poor comparative measure different processors require different numbers of clock cycles to complete tasks.

Example : Computer A may have a clock speed twice as fast as computer B. However, computer A may require three clock cycles to perform an instruction, while computer B requires only one. As a result takes computer A longer than computer B to complete an instruction.
