Why to electron beam allowed to over scan?
The electron beam is allowed to over scan to avoid the creation of a border and to avoid the picture distortion the top, bottom, or both sides of the screen. The distortion occurs because the yoke and scan generator cannot instantly change the direction of the electron beam.
